This book ignited a new interest in the study of historical Anabaptists and their views. It is well documented and does not show the bias of many previous church historians. The book is not only a history but explains how the Anabaptist view of the church differed from the other Protestant reformers and its influence on modern church life. A good concise view of historical Anabaptist beliefs.

Every year Ned and Kate McBride and their daughter Josie attended the family reunion held at Uncle Ernest's home Bramblewood in Bishop's Bridge, North Carolina. Neither Kate nor Josie are looking forward to this year's reunion because Ned has asked for and gotten a separation and is living on the other side of the country. When Kate and Josie arrive at the home of Kate's parents, she is greeted by her temporary guardian angel Augusta Goodnight and her young apprentice Penelope.

Kate's Aunt Violet thinks all of these events are related so the intrepid females bait a trap to catch a murderer.

The latest Augusta Goodnight mystery is a charming, often times whimsical small town angelic cozy starring characters that are so delightful and amusing that readers will want to finish the book in one sitting to see if there is a happily ever after ending for the McBrides. Mignon F. Ballard knows how to write a captivating who-done-it that doesn't depend on blood and gore to keep reader interest. THE ANGEL WHISPERED DANGER is a good wholesome mystery.

This small, concise book is insightful and gets to the heart of time and time management. It is better than any of the popular, larger books or programs on the subject.

Harold H. Martin, continuing the work of Franklin Garrett, offers a wonderful survey of Atlanta from 1940 to the mid-1970s. Martin selects anecdotes to beautifully evoke each period he discusses--Margaret Mitchell rallying recruits for World War II; youth reading comics in the basement of a church-sponsored hangout; gawkers driving to a hippie enclave in the late-sixties and early-seventies. Martin draws heavily, but not exclusively, from contemporary newspaper accounts to create a richly-textured chronicle. This is a vivid depiction of an era and a city.

"Aunt Matilda's Ghost" is a wonderfully supernatural, and gentle, mystery for young readers. Out of print for many years, this yarn about a spritely spirit should please not only children, but adults as well.

While reading B. FRANKLIN, PRINTER I felt I was immersed in the 18th century with Franklin. I felt I really knew him. I loved the escerpts from colonial newspapers, especially the ones from 1775, the first-hand reports from the firing at Lexington and Concord. I was never bored!

A masterpiece by Franklin W. Dixon.If you like action and adventure, this is the book for you. Frank and Joe Hardy, along with their friend Biff, try to find the the seller of the counterfeit cards that are spreading everywhere, in New York! This compelling story tells about life and death situations. The wordchoice is remarkable, you can't put the book down. a guy named Mr.Wormley is always on the detectives back. But why? Read and find out. Very nicely written,action packed, and exciting. I think Franklin W. Dixon is a very good writer, he shows that because he makes pictures in your mind,plus he uses descriptive words.

I have read this book for the 5th time since I was about 8 years old. I am 36 and it has never lost its' grip on me. Leslie's first hand account of communing with bears in British Columbia's remote, yet not remote enough, North Woods is truly unforgettable. How this book became out of print, and never a movie or documentary defies explanation. Leslie's descriptive language and compelling narrative is a tribute to nature writers everywhere. Readers who like Farley Mowat and Robert Redford would like this book. I plan on passing this on to my 2 year old son as my mother passed it on to me whaen old enough to comprehend. Long live the bear!
